POSITION OVERVIEW:
Seeking a Director level veteran to lead the IT organization through a rapidly growing electronic discovery company based in Phoenix, Arizona.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Hands on manager whose role it to plan, direct, coordinate the implementation and installation of the computer and infrastructure devices to ensure stable operation of the Organization’s local and wide area network.
- Reporting to the CTO
- The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience with Microsoft Server Technology, direct experience in the architecture and operation of a corporate data center and experience in implementation of business applications.
- Specific experience in clustering and load balancing is essential.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Manage the IT organization and all IT operations
- Direct the operations of the company’s data center and web properties serving both customers and internal IT requirements
- Manage the deployment process of the company’s applications through Staging and Production
- Interact with, and directly support, the Engineering organization, providing guidance for robust and scalable network architectures that utilize large, complex databases and applications
- Define requirements for, and procure, cost-effective network components
- Establish and implement firewall, access and security policies
- Manage and deliver multiple, large-scale projects on time and within budget
- Create and maintain documented operational procedures
- Develop and fulfill SLA’s
- Ensure fulfillment of licensing requirements
- Manage help desk and desk top support for all employees
- Identify weaknesses in existing systems and offer guidance for improvements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A BS/MS Degree in related field.
- The person must have in-depth experience and success in:
- Creating and maintaining robust IT architectures and infrastructures using Microsoft technologies (SQL Server 2000 and 2005, Microsoft Clustering, Microsoft “Network Load Balancing”, IIS, .NET, Web Services, MSMQ)
- Bringing the benefits of IT to solve business issues while managing costs and risks
- Knowledge of database implementations and storage solutions, focusing on large scalable databases
- Direct experience in building and operating a corporate data center, with responsibility for network architecture and operating performance
- Must have direct hands-on experience with internet technologies, web-based applications, and enterprise class software and systems architectures
- Effectively hiring, managing, and retaining staff through leadership and example
- Budgeting, Organization and Staff Development, Team Building
- Defining requirements and successfully implementing internal business applications such as ERP.
- A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST ALSO BE ABLE TO:
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, technical writing.
- Demonstrate strong vendor negotiating and procurement skills
- Work and communicate effectively with others (including individuals with widely varying levels of technical ability)
- Follow instructions and respond to management direction
- Effectively plan and manage own projects and time lines to ensure timeliness and accuracy
